IMD has issued a red and orange alert for several states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and sub-Himalayan West Bengal are likely to witness heavy rainfall on July 11-12.
The IMD put many states – from J&K to Haryana – on red alert due to heavy rain in the last 24 hours. The deluge has become disastrous for hill states with overflowing rivers causing flash floods and landslides
Heavy rainfall will continue over parts of South India on Friday and is expected to decrease thereafter, as per the daily India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast.
