According to the IMD's forecast, there will be sporadic heavy rainfall on Sunday in the regions of Gujarat, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, southeast Rajasthan, and southwest Madhya Pradesh.
For today and tomorrow, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalseema.
The weather department has issued orange and yellow alerts for the southern states. For Monday, an orange alert has been issued for Kerala's Ernakulam and Palakkad - and a yellow alert for the rest of the state.
Over the next seven days, South Peninsular India can expect varying degrees of rainfall, with some areas likely to experience heavy to very heavy rain.
