Rain News Live Updates: Heavy rainfall has thrown normal life out of gear in several north Indian states and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) does not see any relief in store in the coming days. Heavy rain will continue to batter north India as Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Delhi is predicted to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on Monday. Visuals from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir showed the mayhem created by rain fury as roads caved in, vehicles washed away and villages inundated in heavy rainfall. As many as 19 people were killed in rain-related incidents and schools were shut in Delhi-NCR and other areas affected by the heavy downpour. Traffic movement was disrupted due to waterlogging in cities, while landslides added to the trouble in hills. Delhi Rain News Live: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted heavy rainfall over 10 states which include Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh.The IMD said that on Wednesday, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim while heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya."On Wednesday there will be heavy rainfall at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh," the IMD said in a statement.The IMD also predicted that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph) is very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh."Lightning and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) is very likely also at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh
IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Delhi and other parts of northwest India. Traffic disruptions and inundation of low-lying areas are expected. Heat wave conditions are likely in Bihar and other parts of the country.
