A tanker explosion Thursday morning at a section of the Sango Tollgate on the Lagos-Abeokuta Road left two people fatally burnt, three others maimed, and 12 vehicles damaged. The accident occurred at the Ilo Awela section of the road. Mrs. Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun confirmed the incident to journalists in Abeokuta.

Investigation has shown that schools have become the haven for cultism as initiation into various groups take place on the premises of public schools.

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested five suspected members of a dreaded cult with the corpse of a young man suspected to be a cultist too.
The suspects, Babatunde Shittu, 25; Ayobami Morenikeji, 15; Fidelis John, 23; Abdullah Adegbenro, 17; and Oyeyemi Bakare, 20, were arrested at Ilo Awela in Sango, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Oyeyemi said the suspects were arrested on Monday following a distress call received at the Sango Area Command headquarters.

Police intercept suspected cultists on revenge mission
In its bid to curtail cultism in Ogun State and her environment, men of Ogun State Police Command have intercepted five suspected members of a dreaded cult group who were on a revenge mission to the state from Mushin, Lagos State.
Also, the Police recovered the body of a young man from the suspects.
Although circumstances leading to the death of the young man could not be ascertained, Spokesperson of the Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said investigations were ongoing at press time.
