democrats who remain on the other side of the illinois state line.hiding out preventing a vote the governor says he wants, insists he will get at some point, approving his budget repair bill. he s not going to get that before he gives his address next tuesday. i spoke to a staff chief who s 84 years old and only serving in state government since 1956, senator fred is still staying on the other side too, he s not coming back, nor either of his 13 democratic colleagues who are still mostly in chicago but in other parts of illinois, as well. the protests here are supposed to be the biggest since last saturday s protests when about 70,000 people showed up here. the governor says there s no room to negotiate. he will not compromise. if he doesn t get his bill, 1500 state workers to start with and perhaps as many as 12,000 will be announced starting next week if he doesn t get the vote and it s likely he won t. mike, thank you. we re going to have more on the
