years between the two states so i m surprise today see there s now sort of a spat between those two states. the governor and i worked in others, the bridge and other issues you ve mentioned out there. particularly when you look at hudson and saint croix county, one of the fastest growing, a suburban area of st. paul in particular, not much further away is hudson from st. paul and walkasaw from milwaukee and i think that as the which ises look at the 2 billion dollars in tax increases proposed there they ll look at expansion. i don t know if that s outright businesses themselves will move, but as they look to expand it s easy to go east of the st. croix river just as north of the illinois state line and in the right direction. you look at rankings a lot like the tallies when it comes to super bowl trophies for the green bay packers versus those that the minnesota vikings
all along. but no matter what method they chose, they couldn t induce or force or pressure the awol democrats to come back. as you know, they cut off direct deposit of their paychecks. they said none of their staffers could get paid unless the time sheets were approved. they tried to impose a $100 per day per absent senator for not responding to a call to the house and still they stayed on the other side of the illinois state line. i don t know how that part as this changed, but this part having to do with collective bargaining looks like at 6:00 madison time it will be a done deal. thank you for the report. it looks like on the verge of compromise, the republicans went in the opposite direction and have decided to take the measure to end this and just doing it without the democrats at all. it apparently is going to happen a little later tonight. stay tuned for the latest on this breaking news out of wisconsin. we ll be right back. republicans in the state legislature. looks like they re a little nervous. the wall street journal reports that, quote, conservatives in wisconsin are there it is, getting nervous that three republican state senators may deflect on the collective bargaining reform vote. they may defect. they re on the ropes. you stood out there for so long in the cold and the winter and the snow. but look, it s paying off. the people are on your side, stay strong. meanwhile, the senate democratic leaders shot down the report that some of his own members hiding out in illinois would return to wisconsin. although democrats did once again reach out to governor walker offering to negotiate with him at the illinois state line, which is unique, interesting. it s a fair offer. and guess what walker did with it? boom, no way. of course, he never compromises. and it looks like it s going to hurt him. look, at some point, you ve got to begin making a deal. and governor walker won t do it. do you know what he

democrats who remain on the other side of the illinois state line.hiding out preventing a vote the governor says he wants, insists he will get at some point, approving his budget repair bill. he s not going to get that before he gives his address next tuesday. i spoke to a staff chief who s 84 years old and only serving in state government since 1956, senator fred is still staying on the other side too, he s not coming back, nor either of his 13 democratic colleagues who are still mostly in chicago but in other parts of illinois, as well. the protests here are supposed to be the biggest since last saturday s protests when about 70,000 people showed up here. the governor says there s no room to negotiate. he will not compromise. if he doesn t get his bill, 1500 state workers to start with and perhaps as many as 12,000 will be announced starting next week if he doesn t get the vote and it s likely he won t. mike, thank you. we re going to have more on the
