(SPRINGFIELD) State Senator Darren Bailey of Louisville is calling out issues with the state’s vaccine program for failing to make satisfactory progress with residents of skilled-care facilities and nursing homes. The Clay County lawmaker joined with his colleagues in the Senate Republican Caucus to author a letter to the Governor noting their concerns and asking to make corrections to improve the vaccine program. The letter pointed to a recent New York Times article that ranked Illinois 47th overall in vaccine distribution and dead last compared to five other states for vaccine distribution.

Pritzker is sending about 500 Illinois National Guard members to Washington D.C. until mid-March for a “security mission.” In a statement yesterday, the Governor said the Defense Department asked for Illinois guard troops to assist federal and local agencies to secure the capital and its surroundings.
