WBGZ Radio 2/24/2021 | By Doug Jenkins - WBGZ Radio   The Illinois Great River Road includes the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway, a 33-mile stretch of road that runs from Hartford to Pere Marquette State Park. It now has a new designation courtesy of the Federal Highway Administration. It is now classified an All-American Road. Cory Jobe, President & CEO of the Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau tells The Big Z this is a significant designation. To be designated an All-American Road, the byway must meet criteria for at least two nationally significant intrinsic qualities: scenic, historic, cultural, natural, recreational, and archaeological.
