Tech issues at city hall have foiled Ward 2 Coun. Michael Vagnini’s good intentions to learn more about Project Now.

Vagnini thought the group was voting to defer the study until the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal has rendered a decision on the Kingsway Entertainment District; however, they were actually voting on a motion brought forward by Ward 1 Coun. Mark Signoretti and Ward 4 Coun. Geoff McCausland.
Motion to evaluate renovation proposal for the downtown area defeated
Sudbury city councilors narrowly defeated a motion to evaluate a renovation proposal for the downtown area. This is after Sudbury architecture firm 3rd Line Studio came forward with the proposal as a cost-saving alternative to building the Kingsway Entertainment District (KED) entitled “Project Now”. It would have seen the Sudbury arena refurbished, potentially saving $40 million over the KED.
Police looking for missing teen: 16-year-old Kaylee Hodgson
Greater Sudbury Police is looking for a missing teen this morning. 16-year-old missing girl Kaylee Hodgson. The teen was last seen in the New Sudbury area at around 2p.m. Dec. 12. It believed she may have travelled to Sault Ste Marie. Kaylee is described as Indigenous, 5’4″ tall, 100 lbs, with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes.
