Ile-Ife (Osun), Feb 25, 2021 The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has unveiled a series of traditional medicines, made from local herbs, that boost human’s immune system against infectious diseases, including the rampaging Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The product launch, which held at the Ile Oodua Palace of Ile-Ife on Thursday,
was done through a platform called Herbal Remedies with the Ooni as the Chairman, in partnership with ace traditionalist, Dr. Akintunde Ayeni, C.E.O/Chairman of YEMKEM International LTD.
Addressing newsmen, the Ooni wondered why the African continent imports medicines and other medical ingredients from developed countries.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Thursday unveil herbal remedies capable of boosting human immunity against COVID-19 disease.
Unveiling the products produce by Yem-Kem International Group in collaboration with Ojaja Global outreach at the Ile-Oodua Palace, Ile-Ife, the monarch said the products were approved by the National Agency for Food and Drug Control, (NAFDAC) and was tested on Covid-19 positive patients in the country.
He commended the federal government and other relevant agencies for their supports towards the successful production of the product.
The monarch added that he has been on the products, largely produced from bitter leaf, which has protected him from contracting the coronavirus despite being in the midst of many people during the height of the infection.

“I have said it before and I will keep saying it.
“We all have a feel of their anger during the #EndSARS protests; we must begin to engage them productively,” he said.
The Ooni said the decision was to assist the youths given the current economic reality of the country.
He lamented that the conditions of some of the students in tertiary institution in the country was worrisome.
He said he targets at least N50,000 for about five million students for a period of four years, explaining that the payment of tuition for five million students would gulp N500billion yearly.
