Scores of motorcyclists clashed with policemen at the Ile Epo bus stop in Lagos on Monday.
One Okada rider was reportedly killed in the fracas causing an irate mob to set a building ablaze.
The location of the arson is not clear yet but some say it is the Oke-Odo police station.
Muyuwa Adejobi, Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that additional policemen have been deployed to the area to restore normalcy.
The spokesman said the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
“The command wishes to debunk the rumour that Ile Epo Police Station was set ablaze by the hoodlums. This news is false and should be disregarded”, he added.

There was crisis in Ile-Epo axis of the Lagos on Monday, as protesters marched to the police station in the area over the alleged killing of a man said to be a commercial motorcyclist.
A resident, who spoke to NAN, alleged that the motorcyclist was killed by a truck.
Speaking on the incident, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Lagos police spokesperson, in a statement on Monday, said there was an attempt to raze the station but the police repelled the attack and arrested 12 persons.

Adejobi added that the police prevented another attack on a station in Elemoro area.

Tension has gripped residents of Ile Epo Ona Odo in the Alimosho area of Lagos State as angry commercial motorcyclists protested over the killing of one of them by a policeman.
The irate motorcyclists had around 11 o’clock on Monday morning invaded the Ile Epo police station and attempted to set the place ablaze.
It took the intervention of reinforcement of policemen from the Task Force and Rapid Response Squad to disperse the violent protesters.
