The Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc has inaugurated a multi-billion naira ultra-modern automated Polyethylene Terephthalate PET) line at Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The facility was built to further deepen availability of the brewer’s non-alcoholic product portfolio.
The facility which is located along the outskirt of the city was a fresh investment amounting to N5 billion and will several direct and indirect jobs for indigenes of the state.
The new ultra-modern automated PET line has the capacity to produce 24, 000 bottles of drink per hour.
The line was designed with the latest technology that is fully automated to meet world class safety and quality requirements
Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, today commissioned a new ultra-modern automated PET bottling line at the Ijebu Ode plant of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nigeria’s foremost brewing company.
Built at the cost of N5.1 billion, the PET line is expected to produce 24,000 bottles per hour (mostlythe Maltina Classic, Vanilla and Pineapple variants, Amstel Maltaand Hi-Malt) and is designed with the latest technology that meets world-class safety and quality standards.
On arrival, the governor was welcomed by the members of the Nigerian Breweries Plc Board of Directors and Executive Committee led by its Chairman, Chief Kola Jamodu, CFR.
In his welcome remarks, Chief Jamodu noted that the construction of the production line was conceived in order to deepen the availability of non-alcoholic product portfolio in the company and that the addition of the bottling line means that the company now has capacity to meet current demand of its customers.

Nigeria Breweries Plc has invested N5bn in a new automated PET line for packaging non-alcoholic drinks.
Speaking at the unveiling of the ultra-modern packaging line in Ijebu-Ode Brewery on Thursday, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, expressed belief that the investment would bring immense economic opportunities to the state.
He said the expansion of the brewery would boost the Gross Domestic Product of the country.
The governor expressed joy at the success of the project, saying the location of the brewery was strategic to the development of the state.
Also, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, noted that the investment would boost the non-oil sector of the economy and position the country for growth.

Nigerian Breweries, NB Plc, has commissioned a N5 billion ultramodern automated production line for manufacturing of pet plastic bottles for its products at its Ijebu Ode Brewery, Ogun State.
Meanwhile, the brewing giant said it has been listed as one of the highest tax paying companies in Nigeria with tax and duty payments amounting to N326 billion made over the last five years.
Speaking at the official commissioning of the new facility, Managing Director/Chief Executive, NB, Mr Jordi Borrut Bel, said that the PET line represents a direct investment of about N5 billion.
