Daily Trust - INEC arraigns professor for declaring false election results

By Thu Dec 10 2020 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Akwa Ibom State, yesterday, arraigned Professor Ignatius Uduk in court for allegedly declaring false election results. Prof. Uduk was said to have declared and published false election results during the 2019 State House of Assembly election when he served as collation/returning officer at INEC office, Afaha Ikot Ebak in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The professor was arraigned on three count charges of abandonment of duties and generation of false scores on form EC BE (II) on 10th March 2019 at INEC office in Afaha Ikot Ebak during the State House of Assembly elections; announcement and publication of false election result; and lying on oath at the inception of the election petition tribunal.

Welcome To Ladun Liadi s Blog Wednesday, December 9, 2020 Nigerian professor, Ignatius Uduk accused of election fraud remanded in prison A State High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday remanded in prison, a Nigerian professor, Ignatius Uduk, accused of election fraud during the 2019 general elections in the state. He is to spend five days in the correctional facility, till December 14, when the court will rule on his bail application. The court, presided by Justice A.E Archibong, last month issued a warrant of arrest on the professor after he repeatedly failed to appear for the commencement of his trial. Mr Uduk, a professor of Human Kinetics in the Department of Physical and Health Education, University of Uyo, was arraigned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on a three-count charge which includes unlawful generation of election results and lying under oath.
