The St. Ignace Visitors Bureau announced they will be opening up the St. Ignace Car Show weekend which will include the closure of State Street on Saturday, June 26.
Thursday’s traditional ‘Cruise Night’, drive-in movie and the ‘Down Memory Lane’ parade will not be returning this year.
Thursday, June 24: Packet pickup 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Paradise Cruise; leaves Little Bear East Arena at 10 a.m.
Friday, June 25: Packet pickup from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce; the Woodland Dunes Cruise; leaves Little Bear Arena at 10 a.m. and the North Huron Heritage Cruise; leaves Little Bear East Arena at 4 p.m.

Over 650 jeeps showed up to participate in the 6th Jeep the Mac in St. Ignace.
Executive Director of the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau, Lora Brown said 1,400 people showed up from all over the country. “All over the Midwest. We have people from many states,” she said. “We unfortunately don’t have our Canadians this year because of their bridge being closed.”
Stephanie Lafoille traveled from South Carolina with her boyfriend and his family to take part in the celebration. “We traveled 16 plus hours to come here and we drove straight through because we’re excited for Jeep the Mac.”

Some 700 Jeeps will cross the Mackinac Bridge Friday afternoon in the annual Jeep the Mac event. Executive director of the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau, Lora Brown, says there will be a meet and greet after the Jeeps cross the bridge Friday night, but there’s trail riding on Drummond Island Saturday and another event Saturday night.
“They have a midnight moose run. It’s called Murray’s Midnight Moose Run in St. Ignace Saturday evening, so any interested Jeepers can participate in an evening cruise in and around St. Ignace to some special locations,” says Brown. “We have surprises waiting for them on this ride.”
