Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was admitted to a hospital due to abdominal pain. After various tests, a stomach infection was detected. He was flown to AIIMS, New Delhi for a second opinion, though he is reported to be stable with normal test results.
"Due to a stomach infection, CM Sukhu was admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC). The ultrasound report is normal and his health condition is stable. We have done his all medical examination and the reports are normal," Dr Rahul Rao, Medical Superintendent, IGMC, Shimla, said. So far, samples of 1,179 patients have been tested for scrub typhus at IGMC, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh; if these, reports of 368 patients have come positive.
