Heather Carrick s Review of the Year: Community is now more important than ever 2020 – more than any other year – has, in my opinion, shown the real importance of community. While we were stuck indoors and isolated for many months, for the people of Glasgow, it was the efforts of others that pulled them through tough times. As a community reporter, it is essential to my job to meet these neighbourhood members, getting to know them and telling their story. Having started at the Glasgow Times in September 2019, I had a few months of getting to know my South Side patch, but from March this year, I was stuck shielding and working from a rickety work desk in my own home.
