Perhaps there was never a time when history was contested in daily political debates as is being done now. Multiple narratives of the same incident spread in mutually exclusive online bubbles and long-forgotten chapters from the past are revived as the lines between myth and history blur and falsification of history becomes common.
In
The Names of the Flowers, debut directorial of Bahman Tavoosi, being screened in the International Competition category at the 25th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), the questions are surrounding a particular witness to a historical event. In the higher ranges of Bolivia, the region where Ernesto Che Guevara was gunned down amid a guerilla war, the government is planning to organise events to mark the 50th anniversary of that event.

Thiruvananthapuram: The 25th edition of the International Film festival of Kerala (IFFK) is all geared up to witness new filmmakers making their mark with their intriguing movies. As many as 10 new filmmakers from Malayalam alone will be exhibiting their works at this year’s festival. Besides, several newcomers from Tamil, Hindi and a variety of foreign languages are also ready to showcase their talent.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], February 7 (ANI): The 25th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) which is slated to begin on February 10, will pay homage to 10 eminent personalities, including Irrfan Khan, who passed away last year.

Thiruvananthapuram: 14 movies have been selected in the competition section of this year’s International Film Festival of Kerala. The movies have been selected from 10 countries including Brazil, France and Iran.
Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Churuli’ and Jayaraj’s ‘Hasyam’ are the Malayalam films competing in this year’s IFFK.
The competition section also includes other Indian films including Mohit Priyadarshi’s debut film ‘Kosa’, Akshay Indigar’s ‘Chronicle of Space’. Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof’s award winning film ‘There is no evil’ is also part of the competition section.
IFFK will also screen three films of South Korean director Lee Chang-dong this year.
