Tawazun Economic Council and Saudi Arabia s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the sidelines of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2021), currently underway in Abu Dhabi.

The MOU aims to build strategic relations of cooperation, partnership and integration between the two sides to enhance the capabilities of the defense industries sector, explore potentials for joint projects and identify areas of cooperation in defense industry-related Research & Development (R&D).

The Germany-based Quantum-Systems will showcase some of its latest unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) at the IDEX 2021 exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

The company, which specializes in the development and production of modern UAVs, will showcase how to enhance the effectiveness of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions with its Vector and Scorpion 2-in-1 System.
“Learn how we are disrupting existing professional commercial and governmental UAS markets, enabling automatic flights that ensure uncompromised image capture or HD live stream, and maximum efficiency to gather actionable intelligence,” it said in a statement.

2021 is a year of anniversaries for Elettronica. The company is celebrating its 70th birthday and it is three decades since Elettronica began its partnership with the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) armed forces. The company began providing the UAE with Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment in the early 1990s. This started an enduring partnership which has helped the Emirati armed forces develop some of the most sophisticated EW capabilities in the region.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the Higher Organising Committee of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2021) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX 2021) have completed preparations for the exhibitions, due to be held 21 – 25 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, alongside the International Defence Conference 2021 which will take place on 20 February at the ADNOC Business Centre.
