Yuletide: Adefisoye urges improved security, better welfare for Nigerians

The Federal lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has felicitated with the Christian faithful in his constituency on the occasion of the yuletide season.
Adefisoye, also rejoiced with his Christian constituents and indeed, all the good people of Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency for the grace to overcome the tough time occasioned by the challenges of Covid -19 pandemic. He also felicitated with his constituents for being alive to witness yet another Christmas.
The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army, however, expressed concern over the security challenges in Nigeria. In a statement personally signed by Adefisoye, in which he called for a marked improvement in the nation’s security architecture.
The party said on Thursday, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency in Ondo State and Hon. Sam Onuigbo representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State announced at House plenary their respective defections from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and PDP to the APC.
“Also recall that the recent meeting of South South APC leaders received two members of the Federal House of Representatives from Rivers State who defected to the party. They are: Hon. Chisom Dike and Hon. Ephraim Nwuzi (Eleme, Tai Oyigbo & Etche and Omuma Federal Constituencies respectively)
“Evidently, the APC under the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has been repositioned as the party of choice for Nigerians and progressive-minded partisans.

The lawmaker’s defection brings to four the number of lawmakers that have joined the APC on the floor of the house since Tuesday.
Onuigbo’s defection was announced by Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, at plenary on Thursday.
The lawmaker cited crisis and impunity in his local government chapter of the PDP as his reason for defection.

“The past months have witnessed intense crisis bordering on tyranny, arising from lack of internal democracy and downright impunity in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” Onuigbo’s letter reads.
“This crisis has seriously distracted genuine leaders from effectively carrying out their primary responsibility of providing leadership to our people who, as it is, have been starved of progressive leadership.

The lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Adefisoye, has defected from his party,
Social Democratic Party (SDP), to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Adefisoye, before his defection, was the only SDP lawmaker in the lower house.
He is also the deputy chairperson, House Committee on the Army.
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, read his letter of defection, dated December 10, 2020, on the floor of the house on Wednesday.
Mr Adefisoye, well known as ‘Small Alhaji’, said in his letter that he dumped his party because of the irreconcilable leadership crisis within his party.
“I write to inform the Honourable Speaker of my resignation as a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP),” the letter read.

Federal legislator representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Army, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has officially dumped the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Defection letter of Adefisoye dated 10th December 2020 was read during plenary on Wednesday, December 17, 2020, by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
Adefisoye, who is popularly known as ‘Small Alhaji’ stated in the letter titled “Notice of Defection To The All Progressive Congress” that his decision to dump SDP was largely informed by the irreconcilable leadership crisis within the party.
