Ibadan, March 1, 2021 Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the immediate past Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Ibadan (UI) said the UI VC selection process had always been marred with conflicts of interest that had made the process tough and competitive from time immemorial.
Olayinka stated this in an interview with newsmen in Ibadan on Monday on the various speculations that have delayed the selection process of the 13th VC of the institution.
He said there were so many speculations on the selection process not only in the recent time but it had been an age-long phenomenon that has led to the use of various antics by interested parties.

Ibadan, Jan. 20, 2021 To meet the yawning housing demands of Nigerians, the Federal Government is set to construct 900 housing units in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, the Managing Director, FHA, disclosed this in Ibadan on Wednesday at the official handing over of the site at Ajoda New Town in Egbeda Local Government Area to five developers.
Ashafa , who was represented at the event by Mrs Oluwatoyin Bada, the Southwest Zonal Coordinator FHA, said that the project was expected to be completed in 24 months.
He charged the development partners to abide by the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the housing scheme.

Ibadan, Dec. 31, 2020 Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, the Chairperson, Oyo State Containment and Decontamination team, says the responsibility of stemming the spread of the second wave of COVID-19 rests on everyone being responsible.
In an interview with select newsmen on Thursday, Adeyemo emphasised the need for Nigerians to observe the well established COVID-19 precautionary protocols of regular hand wash or use of sanitisers, physical distancing, and use of face masks, especially during this festive season.
“However, we have a well established network in Oyo state for prophylactic and containment decontamination purposes and advocacy.
“Ceremonies, watch night services and other indoor gatherings involving a large number of people is a potential spreader of COVID-19.
