NEW YORK, April 6, 2021 The Vilcek Foundation has launched an online celebration to honor the recipients of the 2021 Vilcek Foundation Prizes. Formatted as a microsite, the online celebration recognizes and shares the accomplishments of the 2021 Vilcek Foundation Prizewinners in lieu of the Vilcek Foundation s annual gala.
Awarded annually, the Vilcek Foundation Prizes celebrate the value and importance of immigration by recognizing the outstanding achievements of foreign-born individuals in the United States. In 2021, the Vilcek Foundation Prizes are awarded in Biomedical Science, in Filmmaking, and for Excellence in Public Service.

NEW YORK, March 1, 2021 The Vilcek Foundation has announced that in 2022 it will award three Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Biomedical Science. The foundation has allocated $150,000 to make three awards of $50,000 each to early-career biomedical scientists who have already demonstrated significant accomplishments.
The Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Biomedical Science are part of the Vilcek Foundation Prizes program. Inaugurated in 2006, the Vilcek Foundation Prizes raise awareness and visibility of the contributions of immigrants in biomedical science and in the arts and humanities. The program extols the value of immigration for intellectual and cultural advancement in the United States.

These innovators and emerging leaders, all under 42 years, at least 40 percent of whom are women, are chosen for their strong scientific record, the relevance of research or innovation, and potential for leadership. Meet the 2019-2021 class of NEF Fellows unveiled during the just concluded virtual edition of the NEF Global Gathering (NEF-GG) 2020. Selected from across Africa and the Diaspora, their areas of research range from medicine, cancer prevention, public health to urban life, environmental conservation, and sustainable development.
