As part of measures to tackle climate change, the Adamawa State Government has introduced a cash incentive for planting and nurturing trees in the state. This comes as desert encroachment and its consequential climate crisis threaten the environment and life generally in the Northeastern Nigerian state. The government announced the incentive in Yola, the state capital on Friday while unveiling a tree-planting campaign with community and traditional rulers in attendance.
