PBA News: Ginebra s Stanley Pringle named PBA Best Player of the Conference

Jan 17, 2021 STANLEY Pringle of Barangay Ginebra capped an impressive campaign in the 45th season of the PBA by winning the Best Player of the Conference award. The dazzling Fil-American guard claimed his first-ever BPC award in a memorable bubble season where he led the Gin Kings run to their first Philippine Cup championship since 2007. Pringle led the season s Elite Five, joining Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva of Phoenix Super LPG, Japeth Aguilar of Barangay Ginebra, and Poy Erram of TNT. Pringle tallied 1,640 points to beat Phoenix Super LPG guard Matthew Wright (1,578) in a close race after points from statistics and votes from media, players, and the PBA Commissioner’s Office were pooled together. The Pringle vs. Wright race went down as the closest since the league started handing out the BPC award in 1994, according to PBA statistics chief Fidel Mangonon. Pringle topped the players votes with 67 points and got the nod of the Commissioner’s Office for 300 points to make up for placing in sixth in statistics (641 points). He also finished a strong second in media votes with 632 points.
