Doha: An event ‘A Dialogue With An Author’ was launched on Saturday in Katara within the programme of Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street.
The Cultural Street is being organised by the Cultural Village Katara in cooperation with Qatari Forum for Publishers and Distributors at the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The event aims at celebrating the authors and publishing houses participating in the events and the establishment of an intellectual and cultural dialogue with the audiences of Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street.

The Ibn Al Rayb Cultural Street at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), which launched yesterday with a book fair, provides a golden opportunity for publishers like Dar Al Sharq Group to directly reach out to a wider audience. Leading Qatari media company Dar Al Sharq is one of the 15 publishing houses taking part in the event expected to witness many visitors looking for the latest books, periodicals and other printed materials in the coming months.
Speaking to The Peninsula, Al Sharq Media Management Executive Manager Eizeldin Abdulrahman stressed that Dar Al Sharq’s participation is important in promoting the company’s publishing and distribution sections as well as printing services among others. “We are showcasing many local and international publications and what our printing press Al Waraq has been doing.
