Akinwale Aboluwade The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, says necessary steps are being perfected to address the problem of insecurity in Ibarapaland. The Speaker, who stressed the importance of security of lives and properties of the people of Ibarapaland, stated that it was time for every son and daughter of the zone to come together for a synergy of plans and activities. This, the Speaker noted, became imperative in order to collectively free the zone from the grip of criminally minded persons. Ogundoyin, in a statement made available on Monday, announced that there would be a security summit on Thursday in Ibarapa Central Local Government.

Insecurity: Oyo college declares lecture/work free day for students, staff over incessant killings in Ibarapa

Daily Post Nigeria Published The management of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora, has declared Friday January 22, as a lecture/ work free day for both staff and students of the institution. The institution said that it declared tomorrow, Friday as work/lecture free day in view of the prevailing security situation in Ibarapa geo-political zone of the state. DAILY POST learnt that Igbo-Ora is one of the towns in Ibarapa geo-political zone in Oyo state. DAILY POST recalls that Ibarapa geo-political zone which consists of three local government areas in Oyo South District; Ibarapa North, Ibarapa East and Ibarapa Central Local government areas has witnessed series of attacks, killings and kidnapping by some suspected hoodlums in recent times.
