Armed herdsmen have reportedly killed the brother of the Chairman of Ibarapa Hunters in Oke-Ogun, Bilau Dare, on Wednesday.
Dare disclosed this in Lagos on Thursday at a meeting of Ibarapa indigenes and Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams.
Adams said the insecurity in some parts of Oyo had worsened, adding that criminal Fulani herdsmen had taken over Ibarapa and its environs.
The Yoruba leader urged the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba to urgently redeploy the Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko.
He expressed displeasure at the way the CP was handling the security situation in the state, adding that the reports at his disposal indicate unabated killings in the entire Oke Ogun.

The Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), a Yoruba nationalist group, was recently in the news following the arrest of its security outfit’s personnel due to an alleged attack on a Fulani leader, Iskilu Wakili, at Ayete, in Oyo state. The personnel were taken to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, from Panti in Lagos.
The Fulani herders had alleged that OPC killed one Fatima Umar, the sister of Wakili during the raid. OPC on the other hand claimed reports of the notorious activities of Wakili were brought to his attention by the Baale and farmers in his domain.
