Tuesday night’s performance of Walden was cancelled at the last minute after a backstage member of the company was alerted they could have been exposed while outside of the theatre earlier in the day. A possible COVID risk has been identified in relation to a member of the backstage company. Therefore, regrettably, we need to cancel this evening s performance of Walden. We hope to be able to continue with performances tomorrow.

Last modified on Wed 26 May 2021 07.38 EDT The West End play Walden, starring Gemma Arterton, is to resume performances after a possible Covid safety risk led to the last-minute cancellation of Tuesday night’s show. Just over 10 minutes before the curtain went up at the Harold Pinter theatre in London, Sonia Friedman Productions tweeted an apology that the performance would be cancelled and that ticket holders would be contacted to arrange an exchange or refund. A statement released on Wednesday said: “Last night, information was received at 6.45pm that a member of the production had potentially been exposed to the virus whilst not at the theatre, and on the advice of the production’s

© Johan Persson Here is an exclusive first look at the production shots for Amy Berryman s debut play Walden, which began performances at the Harold Pinter Theatre this weekend and continues to to 12 June. The play stars Gemma Arterton, Fehinti Balogun and Lydia Wilson, and is directed by Ian Rickson. It has design by Rae Smith, lighting design by Azusa Ono, music by Mark Bradshaw, sound design by Emma Laxton and casting by Amy Ball. Set in the future, the piece follows a NASA botanist who returns from a year-long mission to the Moon and meets up with her twin sister.
