A severe thunderstorm with strong winds, nickel size hail and heavy rain rolled through Ottawa Friday afternoon, damaging dozens of trees and knocking out power to several neighbourhoods.
Hydro Ottawa says it is treating Friday s storm as a "multi-day restoration event" after power was knocked out to thousands of customers across the city.
Nearly a week after Wednesday’s ice storm hit Ottawa, the cleanup continues. Trees across the city, eastern Ontario, and Quebec took a hit from ice and wind.
