Partially-sighted residents and people with mobility problems say pavement cafes can be dangerous PAVEMENT cafes are making it difficult for disabled residents and visitors to go into York city centre. A partially-sighted resident said it is now too dangerous for her to walk down some streets because tables and chairs from pavement cafes almost meet in the middle of the road and are not enclosed by a barrier. Ninety-nine pavement cafe licences have been issued in York and the Government has announced that the permissions will be extended until September 2022.
VILLAGERS in North Queensferry are to be have their say in the development and delivery of future initiatives in the village. A charrette to develop an action plan is being formed and will include consultation with local residents, community groups and schools. A report examined by Fife Council s South and West Fife area committee last week said the initiative would lay out a shared vision and a deliverable land-use strategy to shape community decision-making and investment. The overarching Local Action Plan will also ensure a coherent approach is taken to the inter-relationship between key sites to better support the social, economic, and physical regeneration needs of the village and its residents, it stated.
