this wednesday, april 12th i am sam stein in for jonathan lemire the manhattan district attorney leading the prosecution of donald trump is suing a top house republican over his alleged efforts to interfere in the case against the former president. d.a. alvin bragg filed the lawsuit against jim jordan yesterday in response to what he calls a brazen and unconstitutional attack by members of congress on an ongoing criminal prosecution bragg has come under increased scrutiny by the ohio republican since it became likely that the former president would be charged in new york city in addition to calling on the d.a. himself to testify before congress, jordan issued a subpoena last week ordering a former prosecutor in the case to appear before the judiciary committee. now, in the new lawsuit the d.a. asks the court to block that subpoena arguing it could cause irreparable harm to the case if

good morning, sam, it s good to see you the big thing we re successing this morning is this shake up in the 2024 republican presidential primary. i had a scoop earlier this week for axios that looked at a campaign memo that nikki haley s campaign manager have been blasting out to top donors, high profile donors with a lot of money, blasting trump behind the scenes saying that he s more promise of drama for the future, that he s too focused on grievances in the past he s not really offering a forward looking future for america. she drags ron desantis a little bit too and basically dismisses the other declared and potential candidates in the race, which of course is interesting because so far publicly nikki haley hasn t been this sort of aggressive with her other rivals in the race but now that she s raised $11 million in six weeks and kept her head down doing the retail politics campaign, that
