State Police are urging people to stay off the roads as they work an I-10 East crash that will close a portion of the roadway for most of the day.
According to Louisiana State Police, I-10 East at Hwy 61 (Airline Hwy) is currently closed due to a crash.
Significant accumulation of sleet and ice on bridges, overpasses, and roadways have resulted in travel conditions that DOTD strongly considers to be inadvisable.
DOTD is strongly urging motorists to avoid ALL unnecessary travel
Louisiana State Police reports that I-10 East near the crash site will be closed for at least six hours today and urge motorists to stay off the roads.
An 18-wheeler has overturned on an exit ramp off of I-10 eastbound in Duson (Exit 92).
According to Duson Police Chief Kip Judice, the ramp will be closed for an extended amount of time as the recovery of the crashed vehicle will take most of the day.
