Temple University's new safety app, TUSafe, launches Monday, Aug. 14, 2023. The app, a customized version of AppArmor, allows students to more easily report crimes, contact police and request walking escorts. On Sunday, a female student was carjacked near her off-campus apartment, police said.

Suspect arrested in connection with two robberies in homes near Temple University s campus, police say

A 23-year-old male was arrested in connection with two recent robberies inside homes near Temple University's campus, PPD Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said on Wednesday. It is unclear which robberies the suspect is being charged for, as three have occurred around the North Philadelphia campus this month. Though students have been involved in all of the robberies, no injuries have been reported.
