Obamas decisions on afghanistan, including up to the decision to seek the strategic agreement with the afghans that would keep a residual force there after the end of this year. But there were two aspects of the war in afghanistan that troubled me. One was the president s suspicion of the motives of the senior military, particularly when it came to the recommendations on afghanistan. And the second was what you describe. As i told rahm when i met with him, i dont mind that the president speaks out on exit strategies and so on, but the troops need to hear from their commander, the person who is sending them in harms way, that their cause is just and noble, and the mission is important for the country and, therefore, their sacrifices worthwhile. And into two and half years i worked for president obama he only did that once or twice. And i think thats one of the responsibilities of the commander in chief when he deploys men and women in harms way is that he would be willing to speak publi

When every day every step every thought is a fight, this is a celebration. A lot was going through my brain. Its a moment four years in the making for the Giants Organization and brian stowe. He suffered serious brain damage after he was beaten outside the giantsdodgers game in 2011. Three years ago, his son threw out the first pitch at the San Francisco giants in his honor because stowe couldnt himself and he continues to push himself, which is why tonight is so magical. I need walk. Its a much different stowe than people are used to seeing. Even joking round about that first pitch. I would love to do it again. When do they play again . Oh, tomorrow. I can be here tomorrow. Hes making a come back his spirit is thriving and tonight, he was giant. Thank you to the fans who are here for me thank you. And i mean i can go home and probably cry over this. So much e
