The Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) filed a written complaint about theft and burglary incidents following a heavy fuel leakage at the Leimakhong power plant in Kangpokpi district. A Zero FIR has been registered, and security forces are working to identify and arrest the accused persons. The spillage of heavy oil led to contamination of the nearby river, posing a threat to public water supply and creating an environmental hazard.
The oil leak from a defunct heavy fuel power plant in Manipur's Leimakhong on Wednesday happened allegedly after "incidents of theft and burglary" at the abandoned facility, according to a police complaint filed by the Manipur State Power Co. Ltd.
