Many Polish families still live in Moonah.  (Supplied: Leszek Drelich) He said that he wanted people in 200 years time to know where the name Drelich came from in Tasmania, said Leszek Drelich about his father Mieczyslaw. Now, alongside the name, an improbable love story and a personal account of the difficult conditions building Tasmania s hydroelectricity scheme have been made accessible to English speakers. Mr Drelich has finished translating his father s memoir from Polish to English, a project that he began in 1996, with him knowing little written Polish.
