The 29-year-old doctor, employed at a hospital in Kukatpally, lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad police on Monday. According to the victim, he came across the fraudsters on the Telegram app on October 4. They offered him a job to review various products by rating them on a webpage link provided by them.
Hyderabad cybercrime police have uncovered an Rs 712 crore ($96 million) investment scam, overseen by China-based masterminds. The criminals were exposed when data associated with the scheme was not wiped from one of the fraudsters phones. Officials believe that if data on the first phone had remained, losses could have been even greater.
