Hyde Collection in Glens Falls to close temporarily in 2021 | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares0 GLENS FALLS- The Hyde Collection will be temporarily closed to the public from Jan. 4 through May 1, 2021, due to the rise in coronavirus cases. “Our first and most pressing priority always is to protect our staff and visitors,” said Hyde Chief Executive Officer Norman E. Dascher, Jr. in a statement.  During the winter, the Hyde will undergo maintenance projects and its offices will remain open, though with reduced hours and staffing. Four employees will be furloughed and the remaining eight will work on limited schedules.  The Hyde is one of many national and local art institutions that have closed recently because of the pandemic. Schenectady’s miSci announced that it was closing temporarily earlier this month; the New York State Museum, State Library and State Archives are temporarily closed as is the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs.
