The Shelton Fire Department responded to the following calls this past week.
Monday, Jan. 25
At 1:43 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose Co. No. 1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to an odor of propane at the Dental Center of Huntington.
At 6:26 p.m., the White Hills Co. No. 5 and the Huntington Co. No. 3 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a motor vehicle accident on Leavenworth Road at Walnut Tree Hill Road.
Tuesday, Jan. 26
At 3:13 p.m., the Huntington Co. No. 3 and the Echo Hose Co. No. 1 responded to a gas leak inside at the Amedisys Home Health Care Center, 12 Progress Drive.

Darcy Tello said she’s noticed changes since she started Med City Installation in 2019.
She said starting the commercial flooring installation business wasn’t difficult, but earning respect in a field dominated by males was a challenge.
“I even had someone ask me if I was the secretary,” she said.

TALLAHASSEE,Fla. (WTXL) â An economic boost is coming to Tallahassee s Railroad Square.
Businesses in the area hope this could make up for what was lost in 2020.
The doors to the Hyatt House Hotel will open in a month and management says they are starting slow with a team of 20 to open, but within about six months more jobs are expected to be created.
Construction of the hotel started in 2019 and it s scheduled to finish on time despite the pandemic.

The Hyatt Homes Hotel is being built right next to the Railroad Square Art District. The district s co-owner Lily Boynton Kaye hopes the hotel will attract more visitors to local businesses.
Changes could be coming to Tallahassee s Railroad Square once again. A new hotel in the neighborhood is expected to open in February, and many of the businesses are facing hardships linked to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Railroad Square Art District has been in the Boynton Kaye family for three generations. Siblings Adam and Lily are now co-owners. Adam Boynton Kaye says since April, they ve been subsidizing rent for tenants by providing a 10% discount:

Gathering hundreds of people shoulder-to-shoulder in an auditorium many of them seniors with coughs and sniffles is a no-no in 2020.
The live theater and music worlds are on their knees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the folks building the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in downtown Beaverton are betting that by early 2022 they can fill their 550-person theater without a worry.
The construction site at Southwest Crescent Street and Southwest Hall Boulevard is wedged between a new parking garage, a new Hyatt House hotel, and The Round condos (so close that you can see what residents are watching on TV). The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts (PRCA) is part of a project to give this part of Beaverton a center of gravity so that locals won’t have to go to Portland so often for entertainment, and visitors are not just
