STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. National Grid is in the process of repairing a gas leak caused by a contractor in Grant City, according to the utility company.
A third-party contractor not working for National Grid damaged a gas main at Hamden Avenue and Husson Street on Thursday morning, according to a spokeswoman for National Grid.
Crews are on site and making the necessary repairs with no interruption of service to customers, according to the utility’s spokeswoman.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A 22-year-old man stole key fobs from a Dongan Hills car dealership on Monday, just hours after he was arrested for plundering two 7-Eleven stores on the North Shore, police allege.
The car dealership incident, which sparked a large NYPD response, occurred several hours after the suspect was released from custody with a date for a future court appearance following the alleged thefts from the convenience stores, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
