heather: so much money investigating collusion which from the beginning the trump campaign said didn t happen and now we have michael cohen saying it didn t happen. like many investigations sometimes you unearth worse crimes and that is what we are finding here with possible bank fraud, hush payments, we still have to find out more about what is going on with trump tower in moscow and many other things. we are not done on the collusion front. we have to see what the special counsel says but i also believe there are worse crimes that undermine the office of the presidency coming from the president. heather: listen to what debbie wasserman schultz had to say when she asked cohen about collusion. listen. did he lie about colluding and coordinating with the russians at any point during his campaign? i wouldn t use the word collusion.
threshold for impeachment? there was a lot of information that came out that i wasn t aware of. we have numerous investigations taking place in congress. we ll follow the facts where they take us. i think it possibly could lead to impeachment. when you look at the fact that cohen is going to jail for hiding the hush payments and he clearly presented the check that the president signed that he knew about it, was involved in it and tried to hide it. he is also going to jail in part because he lied to congress. so i m interested in your read on this that michael cohen said as it pertains to the question of alleged collusion. let s play it. questions have been raised about whether i know of direct evidence that mr. trump or his campaign colluded with russia. i do not. do you believe him there?
democratic congressman questioned michael cohen yesterday. welcome. good to have you on. thank you. good to be here. so from all that you heard during that testimony, what do you consider an indisputable crime? well, there was a couple of things obviously that we touched on in the committee hearing. there clearly seems to be evidence that the president knew about these emails being released ahead of time, so i think that s an area of inquiry that needs to be pursued. there s clearly some concern about how the testimony that michael cohen put together before his appearance before the intelligence committee when he lied to congress, how that came together, who knew about it at the white house and obviously these hush payments to stephanie
home. what do you think were the most important takeaways? i guess it depends on what you re looking for. i mean, one of the big takeaways for me is it really does look like a sitting president committed a crime. very serious crime. while he was this the oval office. and all of the other pieces and that crime is the going through with the hush payments, reimbursing michael cohen? correct, and directing somebody to lie to cover that up. although he was directing him to lie to the president and the american public, which is not a crime. right. but to me that still is kind of showing the intention to mislead the american public specifically around the fact that he made these payments. i think all of that is incredibly relevant, and the fact that it happened and it was continuing to happen while he was in office is really, really problematic, and we have to setting that fully. that s our job. that s the oath we took. obviously, the republicans today, it was all about
