The NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Tracking Team is monitoring a busy Atlantic Ocean basin with Tropical Storm Nigel, a tropical wave expected to emerge off the coast of Africa midweek, and a non-tropical low that is expected to form in the Eastern U.S. Despite the flurry of activity, there continue to be no systems posing a direct threat to our community in Southwest Florida.

Lastly, a tropical wave expected to emerge off the coast of Africa in the coming days has a low chance of development and will need to be monitored closely over the next week.
Hit or miss showers will target the coastline throughout this morning. Temperatures are starting in the 70s and 80s with a muggy feel out the door and calm winds.
