george. i want to show you how rare this is, right, from nova scotia to get a category 2 hurricane making landfall on the coast was ginny back in 63. and juan in 2003. a lot of destruction from juan in 2003. and now of course we have dorian. so count it back to 63. only three made landfall. here is post tropical cyclone. what does that mean? it is not a hurricane but still causing hurricane conditions. it gets its energy from the differences in temperature and moisture here not so much. obviously a hurricane, as you can see. the cloud cover spiraling to the north. it is still clocking 80-mile-per-hour winds. 100 gusts. that is mostly occurring over water. i have seen wind gusts around 70, 75 through the overnight hours in nova scotia. it is heading up to
you know, they know how to deal with it but they ve also experienced significant damage from these hurricanes. they re trying to make the human damage minimal here and make sure people don t get trapped because this storm was so slow and they did not expect it to affect them. now, again, as everybody has been saying we don t really know what the storm is go inging it. how significant it s going to be. in florida, ana, they don t want to take any chances. they want people to be safe and don t want to go out rescuing people because they say they didn t have enough time to get out. so there s plenty of time. that mandatory evacuation kicking in tomorrow morning. for a and b. we know the latest track shows the storm moving closer to that coast and just heard from the governor at the top of the hour they cannot rule out this hurricane making landfall. diane gallagher, thank you for keeping us posted on all things there. as florida prepares for what s to come, the bahamas is already be

expecting a significant amount of tourists this weekend because it s the last holiday weekendright summer for so many families. they re talking about 130,000 people coming through this airport each day this weekend. that s without the hurricane at all. now, so far we haven t seen very many delayed or canceled flights, although some people say that look, we went ahead and cut our vacation short, we get home a day early because we didn t want to get caught in all of this here. as far as the theme parks go, disney has said that it doesn t have anything on the books right now as far as shutting down for the hurricane but they are going to close their water park, some of their outdoor facilities on sunday to prepare for that hurricane making landfall. again, you have thousands of people who visit orlando to go to these tourist attractions. so many of them here this weekend and a lot of them are going to be trying to get out as that hurricane comes in. okay, diane gallagher, we ll
direct impact possible for georgia or carolinas or maybe it just skirts the coast there as well. we still don t know at this point. you need to prepare that you would have a hurricane right on your shore or making a landfall and then hope that it makes that turn because a category 4 or a major hurricane making landfall would be really problematic. this is the official track, the latest from the hurricane center. they have nudged everything just a little bit to the right or to the east. if the center of this track holds, that would keep it just offshore but then you notice making some sort of potential landfall farther up towards the north and that would be like thursday. so a long way from now. that said, when you look at this cone, that s not the size of the storm. that means the forecast is the center of it anywhere within this point at that time frame. let s not call anything off or calm down here across the eastern seaboard but let s hope this trend continues and we see this contin
