Hurricane Ian unleashed "historic" devastation in Florida, leaving a yet unknown number of dead in its wake, officials said Thursday, as the storm regrouped in the Atlantic on a path toward the Carolinas.
After ravaging Florida, IAN was downgraded to a tropical storm. However, it picked up strength once again from the warm waters of Atlantic Ocean. It is upgraded again to Cat-I hurricane. IAN is now centered about 280km South of Charleston, South Carolina.
