forecasting even better? well, yeah, the funding environment is always going to be a challenge but the program to which i m referring, noaa s hurricane forecast improvement program is already funded so there s already resources being applied and hopefully we ll see some been fits. next year the year after that and probably five or ten years from now we ll still have to deal with uncertainty in the intensity forecast and don t always get the track right. several days ago some of the models were showing this going into florida as a major hurricane, have to deal with it. decisions have to be made before we know what s going to happen. with all the discussion about the intensity and margin of error as a forecast i haer, i v always told my viewers to prepare for one category more. would you agree. oh, absolutely.
