The county says the survey is anonymous and takes no more than five minutes to complete. It asks respondents multiple-choice questions about their demographics, employment, and current housing situation, income level, and budget and housing needs.

WINGHAM, ONT. Hanging out at the beach in southwestern Ontario may not be an option, even when the stay-at-home order is expected to end on May 20. Mayors stretching along the shores of Lake Huron and beyond are discussing shoreline-wide beach closures, possibly before the end of the month. “I think this encompasses right from Elgin County and Lake Erie, right up along Lake Huron to Georgian Bay. The purpose of the discussions would be to have a collaborative approach on the best way to keep our residents safe from the variants, until we’re able to achieve herd immunity,” says Huron County Warden Glen McNeil.
WINGHAM, ONT. High-speed, fibre-optic broadband internet will soon be available to nearly 2000 more residents of Huron County, as $15 million in internet upgrades have been approved by Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology, better known as SWIFT. Ten projects covering 335 kilometres of under serviced parts of Huron County will be covered by the federal, provincial, and municipal funding. “Access to reliable broadband service is essential for Huron County to maintain our vibrant, connected, and prosperous community,” said Huron County Warden Glen McNeil. “The pandemic has only further highlighted the importance of reliable internet. Access to broadband is essential for people to be able to connect, learn, and do business. This announcement is wonderful news for our community.”
WINGHAM, ONT. For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, there are vaccines stored and ready to be deployed in Huron and Perth counties. “We’re bringing the vaccines closer to the residents, closer to the people in Huron and Perth County,” says Huron County Warden Glen McNeil. Vials of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Huron-Perth last week, and are being stored at the Clinton headquarters of the Huron-Perth Health Unit, in an ultra-cold freezer donated by Bruce Power. “Having it Huron-Perth is great. We’re less worried about the weather, and the longer transport. It just provides us some additional ease,” says Huron-Perth’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Miriam Klassen.
