let s look at the state of alabama and focus first on the african-american population. the deeper the shading, the higher the population. significant african-american populations here in huntsville, text cloo 15, selma, montgomery we saw the increased democratic turnout in virginia and new jersey. can the democrats copy that, emulate that, get that increased democratic intensity, especially an members of congress african-americans in ruby red alabama? it is the only big stepping stone. doug jones absolutely has to have that as his first stepping stone. it s not enough, but if this electorate is 30% african-american, he s presumably getting more than 90% of those votes, he s on a path to be competitive. look at the pockets of it here. it is the absolute critical base vote for the democrats. flip the table a little bit and clean this up. here is roy moore s traditional base. let s come down here to evangelical voters. let me shrink this down so you can see it. again, the deeper the int

are looking at the huntsville area, which was the only place won in the primary by congressman mo brooks. they think there are votes to be gotten there. and i talked to others who think, maybe these folks should have looked more in the rural areas to turn out some republican voters. what is the roy moore vulnerability? in this race? yeah. the vulnerability i think is going to be the business turnout. you know? look at turnout in the first round of the primary. around 400,000. less than one-third of republicans who voted for trump in to 16. a tiny turnout election. when i was there, not an election everybody s talking about. what i wondered. didn t feel buzzy. even at events i went to for mohr, not a lot of people. not at the strange events either. it isn t an election gripping the state as much as it s gripping washington, d.c. with a little bump in turnout, you could change things. u.s. chamber working with the state chamber has really been working to communicate with work

today, it s going to be so much worse. as far as tornadoes, 150 reports of tornadoes total in the last 24 hours. most of it all down here in hard-hit northern alabama. that was by far the worst concentration, up towards the decatur and huntsville area, the tuscaloosa-to-birmingham tornado was one of the biggest and strongest ones we followed yesterday. and our friends in jackson, mississippi, across interstate 20, a large tornado was on the ground for 50 to 60 miles. this morning our tornado threat is slowly but surely ending. we have a tornado watch for augusta, georgia, up to the charlotte and raleigh area. but we haven t had any big fa s tornadoes for long time. we had a tornado in central new york that damaged about ten homes near binghamton. we still have tornado warnings near utica, new york. a severe thunderstorm watch includes much of new jersey to philadelphia, to baltimore.
