The Huntington Police Department on Thursday released the names of two people found dead earlier this week. According to authorities, the bodies of 35-year-old Andrea L. Burnette, of Huntington, and 48-year-old Terence Lamont Holmes, of Cincinnati, were found Monday inside a Guyandotte residence located in the 700 block of 5th Avenue. Officers said both people died from apparent gunshot wounds. An investigation is ongoing.

HUNTINGTON — Huntington Police say an arrest early Thursday led to the seizure of drugs, firearms and cash. Kevlin “Smev” Jackson, 40, was arrested by members of the Huntington Police Department on Thursday morning, in the 1000 block of 8th Street, for delivery of a controlled substance. That arrest, police say, led the city’s Violent Crime Drug Task Force and ATF agents to Jackson’s residence on the 1200 block of 7th Street, where police were able to obtain a search warrant. The search yielded two firearms, 48 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of crack cocaine and $9,000 in cash. Jackson received additional charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and being a prohibited person with a firearm after the execution of the search warrant.

Police roundup: Father, daughter arrested on drug charges in Wayne County

EAST LYNN, W.Va. — Wayne County law enforcement said a “major heroin dealer” was arrested Tuesday after a lengthy investigation into heroin sales in the East Lynn area of the county. Terry Lynn Stephens, 56, and his daughter, Rachael Danielle Stephens, 35, both of East Lynn, were jailed at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday. Both defendants were charged with conspiracy to deliver heroin, while Terry Stephens also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Rachael Stephens was also charged with aiding and abetting. According to Wayne County Sheriff Rick Thompson, their arrests came during a traffic stop that was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit. The investigation started after the sheriff’s department received multiple tips on Terry Stephens.
