Wiley runs nation s-best mile time in Alabama

Addy Wiley, who just completed her junior year at Huntington North and won the 800- and 1600-meter runs at the girls state finals last week, won the mile race at the RunningLane Track Championships in Madison, Alabama, on Saturday in 4:38.14, the fastest outdoor mile recorded by a high school girl in the country so far this year.

CRANSTON, RI Cranston drivers who hit the roads at night should plan ahead for delays and closures in the area of I-95 and Route 10, according to the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
In a news release, RIDOT announced ramps connecting the two roadways will close intermittently from 9 p.m. to 6 p.m. starting Sunday. Overnight closures could continue as-needed over the next three months.
RIDOT said the ramp from I-95 North to Route 10 North will close nightly on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Drivers will be required to detour at exit 16 and keep right for the Elmwood Avenue ramp. They will then make a left at the signal and turn right onto a Route 10 North on ramp.
Carroll girls win Lime City Relays title

Carroll won the girls title at the Lime City Relays at Huntington North on Saturday with 149 points, while Leo was second with 124 and Huntington North third with 111. Merrillville won the boys title with 140.5 points, while the Vikings boys were second with 90.5 points. The Northrop boys were fourth with 86 points.
The Chargers girls only won two events, as Adison Smith won the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches, and Ali Sparks won the shot put with a distance of 36 feet, 5.25 inches. Leo girls won the 100 dash (Karis Davis, 12.85 seconds), 300 hurdles (Leah Handshoe, 48.08) and discus (Katelyn Fry, 116 feet, 10 inches).
