The nonprofit Broad Top Area Coal Miners Historical Society announced today that its multi-purpose Coal Miners Museum at Robertsdale will open for the 2021 season Saturday, May 1.
The society board of directors, meeting recently in the museum research library, set in motion several activities for the year including cooperative activities with the Friends of the East Broad Top (FEBT) and the EBT Foundation. The museum will be adhering to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions during the season, subject to changes in the restrictions as the year progresses.
The society is hoping for a larger attendance during 2021 as plans proceed for the reopening of the EBT train excursions at Rockhill as well as the grand opening of the FEBT Museum Complex at Robertsdale this summer. The FEBT attraction is located a few blocks from the Coal Miners Museum.
