Maison Residences is a mixed use development designed around a heritage-listed hotel in Hunters Hill, NSW. The Hunters Hill Hotel is a local landmark designed by Sydney Ancher, one of Australia’s foremost Modernist architects.
The Maison project involved the refurbishment of the heritage hotel and the addition of 2500 square metres of retail space as well as 41 luxury apartments. With the Hunters Hill Hotel forming the centrepiece of the mixed use development, Squillace Nicholas Architects took care to use design cues from the heritage structure and blend them into Maison’s contemporary fabric, thereby, preserving the original character of the building. New buildings to the north and west of the hotel are separated from it by discreet link structures.
