Box truck thief admits he swerved at pursuing police ‘to mess with them,’ cops say

A 23-year-old man admitted to police he stole an unoccupied box truck in Allentown, driving west through Lehigh County with police in pursuit and swerving at “officers to mess with them,” court records say.
Hunter J. Hunsicker was arraigned Thursday night on felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property, plus seven other charges, and sent to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Hunsicker, whose address is listed in court records as an apartment in the 2200 block of Hamilton Street in Allentown, told Pennsylvania State Police after he was caught that he was homeless and took the truck when he saw it running and unoccupied shortly before 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke’s Hospital-Allentown Campus, 1736 Hamilton St., according to court records.
